I studiously avoided anything approaching exercise until I was 54. Then, after 20 years with the same personal trainer, I eventually took courage in both hands and joined a gym at 74. I go there on average twice a week. Nothing too strenuous, just flexibility now, but I always cycle which provides some cardio-vascular exercise. Even that has been toned down since I bought an electric bike in 2017.
