The early years

I must have been about eight when my mother walked me down Rumney hill to visit Miss Middleton in her bungalow. Piano lessons lasted all of three weeks and then I gave up, as kids do. After passing the 11+ I went to Howard Gardens High School where it took a year for my parents and the music master to begin my private lessons.
